Pre-Obit Log #1: Crush the Launch
[Timestamp: Tue, Feb 24, 2026, 9:36 PM]
309 days 16 hours 22 mins 25 secs remain
The Vital Sign:
Hello, I'm Jim Booth, and I'm done mourning the countless hours the clock was drowning me under as I hurried to launch my Jesus Ice Cream t-shirt with you. Time tried to bury me, but I buried it.
So, if you're expecting a rushed 'limited time' offer as you watch my 2026 countdown ticking away, this is where I've flipped the script; it's the ultimate move in Christian counterintuitiveness. Here's the inside scoop I'm letting you in on: my countdown timer? It's a lie.
Yeah, you read that right. Time is a lie.
The Autopsy Report:
The world tells me to rush because I'm 'on the clock.' I've crushed that lie, and I want to help you do the same. I'm not running out of time; I'm outlasting it. Death isn't my finish line; it's just the moment my clock finally breaks.
So let me ask you: Can my clock break while I'm still walking? Can the gears stop, the battery die, and the world move on—yet here I am still writing to you?
Can I die ahead of time? Let me show you how I did it. Stop scrolling for a moment and read Colossians 3:3.
The Will & Testament:
Okay, so you read the verse, right? Now I pray you will help me crush my t-shirt launch by both of us refusing to ever be deceived by the clock again. Don't buy the lie—buy the shirt.
Each post I drop here is a timestamped autopsy of my life in 2026, logged down to the second. But I'm not the one dying—time is. I'm only drowning you in the detailed urgency of my countdown timer so you can see the deception of living your life on the clock.
However, these posts are also my pre-obit as I will certainly 'exit stage left' from this world at some point. So, please—for the third time—go read the God-breathed words that shattered my fear of death and gave birth to the Jesus Ice Cream t-shirt.

Smash the Wall
Smash the Script
It's been exactly nine days since my last autopsy report—give or take a few minutes and seconds—but who's counting? Colossians 3:3 shattered time for me, remember? Now it's time to talk about how I got here. It's called 'breaking the fourth wall.'
'Breaking the fourth wall' is that supernatural, regenerative moment when Jesus suddenly turns and speaks directly to you, shattering the invisible barrier that's been separating you from Him. In essence, you've now been pulled into the very deepest waters of His story, moving from 'flipping the script' (Col 3:3) to smashing it—as we see in Galatians 2:20.
I had this 'smashing' experience while drowning in the choppy, frigid February waters of Lake LBJ. That was the moment I stopped being a passive observer of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection and became an active participant in my own.
Smash the Ending
I experienced a "fourth wall break" as I was drowning in the choppy, frigid February waters of Lake LBJ, where I went from being a passive observer of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection to becoming an active participant in my own.
Smash the T-Shirt
Today, 14 years later, I stared out at the spot in the water where it all went down. I don't remember what I was wearing that tragic day but I'll never forget the t-shirt I created to commemorate it.

Scream for Jesus
Scream for Life
When people ask me about the Jesus Ice Cream shirt I tell them it's "borrowed breath." It's all the supernatural days, hours, minutes, and seconds I shouldn't have been given after falling off my kayak into ice-cold water with no life jacket and the most pathetic attempt at trying to swim you've ever seen.
Time didn't just stand still as I was drowning; it was shattered.

Living Out Col 3:3
Imagine you die but get to linger around to be part of your own funeral, which lasts for years, maybe even decades. What do you do with this extra time and who do you invite to your farewell reception?
This is the story of Colossians 3:3 and how I've lived to achieve my lifelong ambition after my death, and it’s a tribute to the people who are ushering me Home as I methodically break through to the other side.
All I'm leaving behind is the shirt off my back.
